What Readers Say About the (devilish) Film: “Innocent Muslims”?

ماذا يقول القراء عن الفلم الشيطاني

Hasan Yahya, former professor of Comparative Sociology

A screengrab from the violence-inciting trailer of “Innocence of Muslims”
Khadija asks Waraqa bin Nofal to help the (B……………d.) Prophet,
Waraqa promised to compose a new False version (which is Qur’an) of Old and New Testament.
(The film rediculed the essence of Islamic belief, God, Muhammad and Qur’an)

Two answers sample here reflects almost all responses for the film, here are examples of summarized  responses one part looks at the consequences and the other part to the causes as provocation  to incite hatred and violence.

Some readers say:

The big question for me is whether this “film” is the equivalent of shouting “fire” in a crowded theater. We do indeed have a first amendment which guarantees the right of free speech. It does NOT allow people to deliberately incite others to commit violence. So were the makers of this film trying to incite the resulting violence or was this just a case of REALLY poor judgment on the part of the filmmakers? Censorship is a very slippery slope and it seems prudent to exercise it as little as possible if we wish to protect our right of free expression.

The real problem here seems to one of intolerant and unforgiving religious beliefs. It is my own personal belief that religion (ALL religion) has been the cause of more hatred, suffering, and outrageous displays of man’s inhumanity to his fellow man than all the epidemics, and natural disasters that have plagued mankind since the dawn of our existence. What is it about religion (ALL religion) that turns some people into dogmatic zealots who are willing to kill their neighbors because they don’t believe in the same God they do? Religion is poison and if I had my way it would be wiped off the face of the earth.

(My comment is: excellent words, but the reader looks at the consequences and omit the causes of it, like many normal readers!)

Other more to the point readers says:

From what I’m reading from right wingers in these posts, its basically #s 4 & 5. They desperately want this widespread violence to somehow be all Obama’s fault. And they agree with the premise that Islam is a less than human perversion of all that’s holy. They keep harping about the fact that the Benghazi attacks were coordinated, & had clearly been planned for sometime before they occurred–as though that somehow proved that this provocative “movie trailer” couldn’t have had anything to do with the civil protest that was used as convenient cover. And they simply cannot wrap their brains around the fact, whether they think that it is properly religious or not, that for centuries ANY artistic depiction of the Prophet has been considered by his followers to be a sin of blasphemy, deserving of death. Not too long ago, in historical terms, “defiling” a communion wafer (among other things) would have prompted the same response from a number of Christian churches that had the power to have people burned alive. And I’m not at all sure that if we gave that power back to churches, that at least some of them wouldn’t use it again. They also can’t seem to grasp the fact that Nakoula, as an Egyptian immigrant, understands this dynamic perfectly, & when his trailer wasn’t provoking the reaction that he expected it to, he fixed his oversight, & dubbed it in Arabic. That he is a paroled convict, who was convicted of internet fraud, among other things, & is therefore not allowed to use the internet, as part of the conditions of his parole, does not mean that he is being persecuted, if he goes back to jail for that parole violation.

What we see here is more clear evidence that Romney is doing as well in this election as he is, because he has the unflinching support of a large number of mindless Obama haters. Not because they love him, like him, or even respect him, but because they viscerally loath Obama. Add up all of the given “reasons” for their hatred, & they still come nowhere close to justifying the vitriol that they will hurl at him with little or no rational provocation.

(My comment: the last two words carry most of the description of the issue, no rational provocation, exactly like the Ad. Calling jihad ‘savage” set to appear in NYC subway, why provoking Muslim believers and ask them the stupid question: why they are angry? )

NOTE: To see how much ugly the film is,  see this shut here!
