President-Obama Unwise Decision
In my opinion as an American citizen, I have to say that President-Obama Decision to attack Syria was unwise after two and half years of the conflict. I spent may be two hours writing tweets on twitter against that decision and asked Mr. Obama not to challenge the American Congress in this regard. I believe the decision if executed will be the final nail in the Democratic Party coffin. It will be used smartly by Republicans.
While the previous president was Republican, we expect from a Democrat President not to follow suit. The American pride injury after 9/11 may gave the Bush’s Administration to take charge of waging war on Afghanistan and Iraq, after deceiving American people of several documented lies on Chemical Weapons of Mass Destruction in the case of Iraq, but to a Democratic liberal president to act the same way, I believe is strangely unacceptable. History has no mercy on fools, Arab poet says in Arabic:
لكل داء دواء يستطب به
إلا الحماقة أعيت من يداويها
Every disease has medicine to cure it
Except foolishness, impossible to cure
I urge my fellow citizens, American people if they believe that the decision to wage unjustified war is unjust and unwise, to make their voice heard. Americans got sick of WAR involvement for the past decade. And Syrian conflict, is in no way threaten the American National Security as some advisors believe and publicize.
I trust our Congress, and I think they will take the right decision, by saying NAY, to the President decision. Otherwise shame on one of them will persist, or on both.
And for Obama, I say an advice, challenging those who brought you to presidency, are able to put you out of it. Our unhealthy economy still survives, war will worsen its position. Too many projects inside America serving the American public need more attention than Syria.
For Arabs, Mr. President, you don’t know the Arabs, and history of corruption and dispute will remain alive for a while until they find their way to self peace and renaissance as Europe did. They will separate state from religion, no one may stop in the typical road of people’s freedom. Egypt is the sign.
In my belief, whatever was the outcome in the Middle East in the long run, will not satisfy American interest, wither the Fundamentalist parties or the secular parties rule the area in the end. The first will establish a religious state of affairs, the second will establish a rational legal system to unite Arabs, after the contemporary (Western made) regimes vanish from the sight.
God bless America! God Bless Obama, and God bless the American Congress Members. www.hasanyahya.com
