What ORIENT Stands for in Education?

ORIENT is offered in education as a musical mind mapping or thinking tool which can be used to stimulate composing and improvising processes and to generate and revise ideas.
There are four steps in this procedure which may be carried out in any order although, it will be argued later that all steps must be carried out in order to make full use of this as a thinking tool. The steps are:
Options – list a range of possible options
R – Review, Reflect or Revise
This is a dynamic process which can be likened to a mental three-dimensional rotating mobile which is present throughout the composing process. All parts are interrelated and connectable from any point. Each of the stages can influence any other, generating new directions and movements within the model. AAE
